Kurosagi (クロサギ) – The Black Swindler

“In this world, there are three types of swindlers, those who defraud other people’s money, shirosagi (white swindler); those who deceive others by manipulating their feelings, akasagi (red swindler); and those who only target the white and red swindlers, a swindler of swindlers, kurosagi (black swindler).”

Kurosagi (クロサギ) literally means Black Swindler in Japanese. This Japanese Drama based on the hit Manga series by Natsuhara Takeshi (夏原 武) and illustrated by Kuromaru (黒丸). The series was adapted as an 11-episode TV drama and was first was aired back in year 2006, April.

Yamashita Tomohisa (山下智久) plays Kurosaki (黒崎), a young man seeking revenge on the shirosagi (white swindlers) by swindling them out of most, if not all of their money back to the original victim and sending enough evidence to the police capable of putting them into prison.

Kurosaki works with the master swindler Katsuragi Toshio (桂木敏夫) played by Yamazaki Tsutomu (山崎努) even though Toshio had a hand in the destruction of Kurosaki’s family.

Kurosaki’s life begins to change when he meets Yoshikawa Tsurara (吉川氷柱) played by Horikita Maki (堀北真希), a young stubborn law student, pursuing to be a prosecutor who disapproves of Kurosaki’s disrespect of the law and tries to persuade him to give up swindling and his quest for revenge.
